Take Me
Poem 14 of 95

Take Me
Take me into your shadow, dear trees,
and let me be one of your branches,
I want to lose my foolishly saddened soul
and sink into eternal silence.
It's hard for me, and lonely am I among people,
I won't be lonely with the sister branches:
They will always kiss me with their green leaves,
whisper something to me and show me something.
Yes, you will show me your dear beauty
and tell how the wind loves you
full of joy I will sway the green leaves
and listen, like a child.
And a carefree green soul will awaken in me,
I will love and be loved by the wind
and after a life all played out, I will with you finally understand
how good it is to live without suffering, without sin.
