English Translation

Autumn Gold

Autumn gold, bright day.

I walk through streets with joyful youths.

They dance a dance on every corner,

and I cry out as if from iron lungs:

— long live joy! — the slogan of the youths:

this is how I take revenge on myself.

Whoever doesn't want to rejoice — should be forced

to walk a merry dance in the middle of the street.

When people start looking — I look back,

and to words of mockery I answer with songs:

I want to sing the song of human happiness,

that beats with sun and with blood of limbs.

And to the joyful youths I say as to brothers,

I say thus, I say intimately:

— you know, with the sorrow that is here in songs

something is not good, something is bad.

And here see, — as soon as I speak

red eyes light up by every wall,

it runs and limps in the footsteps of joy,

like a beaten dog, my last sorrow.

The youths laugh with strong laughter,

the youths laugh with white teeth:

and I laugh along with the righteous joy,

to take revenge on myself.

Our Fate

We dream our dream from eternity.

Life calls us and also death —

to come to everyone and do everything,

to sow life and also death,

and ourselves die and ourselves be sown.
