New York at Night by The Banks of The Hudson
In the chambers of your skyscrapers
flows golden honey, — the light,
through the millions of windows,
like through the chambers of gigantic honeycombs,
one sees the golden honey,
the human's honey, the light.
wealthyHuge bees have built their hives here,
a forest of beehives,
and overfilled them with honey,
human honey, — the light.
Black, like pitch, is the Hudson at night,
and the honey streams there,
and swallows the pitch by the banks of New York.
